COMMUNITY HOUSING IMPROVEMENT PROJECT: an ecumenical effort to help area residents who do not have sufficient resources or the ability to make basic repairs to their homes. The mission of CHIP, Inc. is simply "neighbors helping neighbors keep their homes safe, warm and dry." Rotarians help with this once a year ... simple repairs and winter-proofing. Have fun, do good work and help our neighbors.

The Eastern: Book One: The Early Years
Jan 22, 2019 7:00 AM
hosted by Bill Silver. In the early 1800s, five families settle on the Eastern River in Pittston, Maine. Together, they build a strong and lasting neighborhood, an agricultural community based on New England values of cooperation and reciprocity. Both fiction and social history, The Eastern flows through the experiences and truths we share with those who have lived before us. Her latest book, an historical novel takes place in E. Pittston, on the road to Augusta. Members can read the book before her appearance. It is found on Amazon and probably in the Maine Coast Bookstore. This will be our first writer in memory to speak before the club----but it fits in the realm of local history and the author is local [Brunswick}.
